DIGITAL ACCOUNT CLOSURE

Closure of digital accounts, content recovery, and removal of digital footprints

Digital account discovery

Using a variety of forensic and search techniques we identify and locate digital assets held by a person or entity, these can be all types of accounts – for example, social media, financial and loyalty accounts. The account holder name can be the legal name of the person/entity, aliases or nicknames. This service is particularly useful for locating cryptocurrency accounts in centralised registries.

Digital footprint discovery

This service goes a step further than digital account discovery and searches the web and dark web for indications, references or activity for a person, entity, alias or nickname.

Identification of digital assets

Using proprietary techniques we search devices and files for references to digital assets. The resulting report can then be used for further analysis and action.

Digital asset inventories

Once digital assets are identified they can be catalogued and documented creating digital asset inventories with details on holdings, platforms and other important information.

Tracing of digital assets

In many instances digital assets are more traceable than physical assets. The blockchain is a public record and can be analysed for transactions involving cryptocurrencies and other digital assets.

Recovery of digital assets

Once digital assets have been identified and their cyber or account location determined there is the possibility they can be recovered and transferred into the legal possession of the authorised and proper holder.

Transfer of digital assets

Assistance with the transfer of digital assets from one party to another or one service provider to another.

Digital account closure

Closure of digital accounts, from social media to store accounts. This service can be used by executors or administrators of an estate or by individuals who want to reduce their digital footprint. A post-mortem service can be arranged where in the event of your client passing, specific accounts or information can be confidentially removed and erased.

Digital footprint erasure

The opposite of footprint discovery and goes one step further than account closure. The digital footprint of a person or entity is “scrubbed”. Devices and accounts are searched for online activity and potential accounts and platforms are identified. In addition, searches on the web and dark web are conducted. There is no guarantee all digital traces will be removed. This service is on a best endeavours basis.

Secure data destruction

The data on the devices is erased and the physical unit is degaussed. Once erasure is completed, the device is sent an approved ewaste processing facility for recycling. Devices can be returned if required.

Device erasure & shredding

After erasing the data, the device is physically shredded in an environmentally friendly way at an approved ewaste processing facility.
